Is the wallpaper a photo print?
No. Our mineral wall panelling is 100% handmade in Saxony and consists of real rock material. The patented formula makes it exceptionally flexible despite its high mineral content. It feels like real concrete - but is as pliable as concrete wallpaper.
What do I need to install the elegant concrete wall panelling? Is adhesive and joint sealant included?
Our mineral and metal wall panelling is supplied directly with matching adhesive and joint compound. The quantities are matched to the surface and texture ordered. You only need standard painting tools: brush, paint roller, masking tape, masking tape, laser or spirit level and a cutter knife.
What can happen during processing? Can I correct minor faults?
Minor processing errors can usually be rectified without any problems. Fingerprints, adhesive residue or pencil marks can be removed with a damp cloth or eraser as soon as they appear. Slight cracks or chipping can be repaired by carefully pressing the edges together and filling them with our joint compound. The area can then be smoothed with a soft, damp sponge.
What colour is the concrete joint and what is the ideal width between the concrete sheets?
The width of the joint between the rolled concrete sheets can be freely selected - from butt-to-butt to approx. 0.2-0.5 mm or more. There are no limits to your creativity here. The colour of the joint sealant is always matched to the material ordered and can be used subsequently in the concrete wallpaper joint or for minor repair work.
What substrates can the concrete wall covering be bonded to?
In accordance with DIN 18365, the substrate must be load-bearing, free of dust and grease and level (quality level Q3 or higher). It must not exhibit any stresses, cracks or board joints. The use of a suitable adhesive or deep penetration primer is mandatory. Already successfully bonded to: Glass, aluminium dibond, wood-based materials (MDF, HDF, maritime pine boards), plasterboard, concrete and smoothed walls.
Can I also seal the joint with acrylic or silicone?
We only recommend using the joint sealant supplied. Acrylic or silicone can also be used for connecting joints - e.g. on doors or washbasins - after consultation. If application with a brush, finger or spatula is too cumbersome, the mixed joint compound can also be filled into a piping bag or an empty cartridge.
How do I apply the wallpaper to inside or outside corners? How is the board edge applied?
For clean corners, we recommend precise cutting or the provision of an allowance of approx. 5 cm offcut. For external corners, the wallpaper can be slightly overlapped and subsequently cut flush. For panel edges and outside corners, we recommend finishing with sanding fleece and filler to achieve a clean transition. The ABS edging can be replaced with our joint compound at panel edges - the concrete wallpaper can also be applied using an edge banding machine. Inside corners are glued butt-jointed and then filled with joint compound. You are welcome to watch our processing video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTirMLX2O_c&t=1s)
Can I simply cut the wallpaper?
Yes, the concrete wallpaper can be cut with a cutter knife on the reverse side or with painting scissors. For thicker structures, we recommend working with a cutting table and cutter knife.
Where and how can I order the concrete wallpaper?
Feel free to send us an e-mail with your requirements. If it has to be quick and you don't need customised products, you can order directly from our online shop: shop.wall-rapture.de.
Can I stick the wallpaper around curves and how do I apply it to corners?
Yes, the concrete wallpaper can also be applied around curves - even tight radii are possible. If the radius is very small, we recommend using a hot air dryer: the warmer the wallpaper is, the more flexibly it can be moulded to the desired shape. At internal or external corners, it can either be cut or glued butt-jointed. We are happy to support you with customised solutions for special requirements.
Can I apply the wallpaper myself?

What should my substrate be like?
The substrate must be free of dust, dirt, grease, cracks and load-bearing capacity in accordance with DIN 18365. Unevenness (below Q3), open board joints or unstable surfaces must be avoided. The following applies to wood in particular: The material works with temperature and humidity fluctuations - special care is required here. Further information can be found in our instructions.
Does the wallpaper also work in the shower?
Unfortunately, our product is not suitable for direct use in showers. However, we do offer sealers for heavily used areas such as bathroom walls, stairwells or behind toilets: either a 1-component pure acrylic sealer or a 2-component water-based PU sealer. We will be happy to advise you individually.
Are there special sizes or special colours?
Yes, we can customise your product. Do you have a desired colour or a specific size in mind? No problem! Many products are also available as customised cuts or in special sizes. Simply contact us by e-mail at info@wall-rapture.de.
How is the concrete wallpaper delivered?
The wallpaper is rolled onto cardboard tubes - 4 sheets per box. Larger quantities are delivered on pallets. Adhesive and joint sealant are in the tube for parcel deliveries and separately on the pallet for pallet deliveries.
What is the difference to conventional non-woven wallpaper?
Our concrete wall panelling consists of over 70 % rock dust - it not only looks like real concrete, but also feels like it. No comparison to simple photo printing or printed wallpaper. Real feel, real stone, simply authentic!
Where is the mineral wall panelling produced?
Our concrete slabs are elaborately handcrafted in Upper Lusatia (Saxony) and dispatched worldwide. We currently produce around 60,000 m² per year - in a variety of mineral and metallic finishes.
How long does the wall panelling last?
Our mineral wall panelling is extremely durable. With professional installation and care, the surface will retain its appearance and functionality for many years. Would you like to extend the service life even further? Then we recommend sealing or - if necessary - refreshing with paint or glaze after a few years.
Are the concrete panels sealed?
Our mineral wall panelling is not sealed and is therefore open-pored and breathable. Please note that untreated surfaces can absorb liquids, which can lead to permanent stains.
Is the wall panelling impact-resistant or scratch-sensitive?
The surface is robust, but - as with all mineral materials - heavy mechanical stress should be avoided. In many cases, minor damage, corners or holes can be repaired with the appropriate joint sealant. Please note, however, that repairs will usually remain visible. Ideally, you should therefore test repairs on a leftover piece first.
How do I care for the surface properly?
A soft cloth and clear water are usually sufficient for cleaning. Smaller stains can be removed with a soft eraser if necessary. Aggressive cleaning agents or scouring sponges should not be used, as vigorous rubbing can expose deeper layers of stone that are visually different from the surface. We recommend the use of a suitable sealant for areas subject to heavy wear.
How heavy is the wallpaper? Do I have to take anything into account with the statics?
Depending on the design, our concrete wallpapers weigh between approx. 1.2 and max. 2 kg/m². There is generally no additional static load, which makes them suitable for lightweight walls, ceilings or furniture and curves.
Are there samples available for viewing or testing?
Yes - we offer hand samples. You are welcome to order your own samples LINK
How long does the delivery take?
The delivery time is usually 7-14 working days, depending on the quantity and design. Customised products may take a little longer. We will inform you of the exact time frame in advance.
Is the product sustainable?
Our wall panelling is manufactured regionally in Germany - with a high proportion of mineral raw materials, energy-efficient and resource-saving. To protect our employees and the health of our customers, we deliberately avoid the use of cement, BPA, epoxy resins and similar construction additives. Our products are suitable for indoor use, contain neither heavy metals nor formaldehyde and are fire and pollutant-certified for residential use. You can find our CE certificate here LINK
